West Street's lost diner

After 50 years in operation the little culinary outpost for workingman and late night habitues on West street had been demolished along with the rest of the block in another brave attempt to solve the cities unaffordable housing crisis. Called by various names over the years including the Terminal Diner and Lunchbox Diner, it is of iconic design built by the Kullman Co.

Coney Island's Thunderbolt

the original operated from 1925 until 1982.
It was torn down in 2000

The 10 million dollar new steel coaster opened in 2014. Shortly after opening an untrained operator set the speed control to "Classic" the fastest setting which was designed to simulate the speed and rockiness of the original coaster. A car derailed and landed in neighboring Stepplechase pool injuring five from the coaster and three in the pool.
